Katherine Lopes, History Major

“Studying history at UC San Diego is one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. The History Department is an incredibly welcoming community, with supportive staff, passionate and caring faculty, and students with diverse interests and a love for learning. I have had the opportunity to deepen my learning in a multitude of ways, from engaging one-on-one with professors to having spur-of-the-moment conceptual conversations with fellow students in the undergraduate lounge after class.”

“I have enjoyed the content and intellectual stimulation that is fostered in the classrooms. While it can be challenging at times, it is never dull. The community of philosophers has been great to be a part of. “
